Full Description
the Gunduzlu are an Afshar tribe that was forcefully transferred to the Luri by Nadir Shah. The best Luri work seems to originate from this faction of the tribe. The soumak portion of this example features outstanding scale of the typical Afshar design while employing a Luri gabbeh design in the pile elem panel. There are blue cotton highlights in the soumak panel. The gabbeh panel is rare. In addition, Luri work of this age is quite uncommon.
