Full Description
interesting that the wedding iconography in this southeast Asian textile is identical to that seen in kedjebe (weavings) of the central Asian Turkic tribes. The field consist of a repetitive crosshatch (#) pattern while the secondary motif in the border is an ashik. On a personal note I find it gratifying that the primary pattern of the border is an energy wheel (swastika). The dyes too are quite unusual. The gold colored silk appears to be vegetal while the blue cotton diamond motifs do not appear to be indigo.
