Full Description
4 knots per square inch. Body, sans fringe, is 80 X 80 cm. Possibly the oldest known example of this design type; certainly the best. The design is the traditional four compartments within a large compartment with each composed of 3 concentric compartments but with two exceptions; the tantric juxtaposition of red and yellow and the ingenious device of inserting 4 blue bars into the yellow frame(s) to create a large energy wheel (swastika). Amazingly thick windbreak fringe around 4 sides. Probably circa 1800. Here is another rare swastika example in our inventory: [link] .
