Full Description
though the structural details of this rug conform to what we call Shirvan and/or Kuba, (double weft with one pass camel and the other cotton which also serves as the selvedge wrap combined with warps of one ply goat twisted with one ply camel) the weave is not as fine nor as regular. The colors and design are exceptional. Judging by how many washes it has taken to get the dirt out I would imagine that the rug is mid 19th century or earlier.
