pile in the field is very good but it is low in places in the top and bottom borders. Most of the selvedge wrap on the front and back is in good shape but some of it has worn off in spots.
Structure
pile, symmetric knot with soumak closure panels, braided closure loops, supplementary weft float repair threads, and a weft-faced plain weave back.
Materials
wool, camel, and goat.
Full Description
a classic Jaf Kurd field design on a Qashqai bag. All other features; closures, selvedge, back, and border, conform to Fars tradition. There must be a story here somewhere. An exile perhaps?
